Desktop Backgrounds

I created some desktop backgrounds out of the backdrop I have been using for the current round of design work. Using some subtle textures and shades of blue.

   These are really cool. Blue, or, blues are my favorite to begin with, but I like the soft diffused light and texture.

   They’re nice… for people who like subdued desktops. Personally (for my own use) I prefer desktops with a little more punch (but of course, de gustibus et coloribus non est disputandum, or if you didn’t study Latin, “about tastes and colours one should not quarrel”). See for instance a “Firefox” theme, http://mouserunner.deviantart.com/art/Sweet-Fx-Pack-187348824 and an “Eye of Ra” theme, http://mouserunner.deviantart.com/art/Eye-of-Ra-Pack-178456081 — both by Ken “MouseRunner” Saunders and both in quite a number of resolutions.
   P.S. It is only after typing this comment that I noticed that that Ken Saunders had typed the comment above mine. Honest.

   Since I saw the recent mockups, I was looking for the background in the mockups, and now I was looking on your blog, and I found it, so many thanks

   By the way, can you tell how you create those wallpapers, or were you get them, because I love seriously all your wallpapers on the mockups, so maybe you can/will post more of them

   Sweet, now using these as my Mission Control and Dashboard backgrounds in OS X, as described in http://www.thegraphicmac.com/changing-os-x-lions-mission-control-and-dashboard-image-backgrounds. It’s a huge improvement for the Dashboard area, but I may switch it back in Mission Control. A darker background feels better there. Thanks!
